ACTC Lab has already established an important international research collaboration network, participating in many european research programs together with many internationally recognised research centers in Europe and North America.
ACTC Lab is the only laboratory in Greece participating in the european program CANCER-ID (http://www.cancer-id.eu). The research program CANCER-ID is a newly formed european consortium, funded by Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI), with 33 partners in 13 countries, aiming at the establishment of standard methodologies for the clinical validation of cancer biomarkers detection through the liquid biopsy. This consortium aims at the collaboration of experts from the academic and cilinic research fields, innovative small and medium business and diagnostic and pharmaceutical companies as well, providing the oppurtunity for the liquid biopsy establishment in clinical practice.
Our aim is to link up our research activity with clinical research having as primary objective the personalised therapy, by applying the liquid biopsy in clinical routine. This will be primarily for the benefit of patients and society as well, because it reduces the cost of very expensive and specialized treatments.
Our lab has already established an extremely important national research collaboration network. We collaborate with Departments of Clinical Oncology all around Greece, and more closely with these of:
Our research team has also an active participation in Hellenic Oncology Research Group activities (http://www.horg.gr/en/index.php). HORG is directed and coordinated by Prof. V. Georgoulias while E. Lianidou is coordinating the Laboratories Sector.
